Privacy Policy

IPTViX is built privacy-first. This page describes what the app does and doesn't do with your data. We wrote it in plain English first, with the formal language second.

TL;DR

  • We don't run a server. Most of the app is offline.
  • We don't have an account system.
  • We don't run analytics, tracking, or advertising.
  • The AI Companion runs entirely on your device.
  • Sensitive data (playlist passwords, Plex tokens, parental PIN) lives in the iOS Keychain.
  • Optional iCloud sync routes favorites and playlists through Apple's servers — we never see them.

Data we collect

None. IPTViX has no telemetry, no crash reporting service, no marketing pixel, no analytics SDK. We have no servers and no database. Your watch history, playlist URLs, recordings, and AI prompts never leave your device, except via iCloud if you choose to enable it (see below).

Data on your device

IPTViX stores everything locally. Sensitive items live in the iOS Keychain so they're encrypted at rest and never exposed in app backups.

Item Where it lives Notes
Playlist URLs App container Plain JSON in your app's sandbox
Playlist / Xtream / SMB passwords iOS Keychain Encrypted, per-account, never exported
Plex authentication token iOS Keychain Created when you sign in to your Plex server
EPG cache App container Cleared on demand; rebuilt from your XMLTV URL
Recordings Application Support directory You own them; export via Files or Share Sheet
Favorites & preferences UserDefaults Optionally mirrored to iCloud (see below)
Parental PIN iOS Keychain Stored hashed; cleared on uninstall
AI prompts & recaps Memory only Never persisted, never transmitted

iCloud sync

If you're signed in to iCloud and have iCloud Drive enabled, IPTViX optionally syncs your playlist list, favorites, and parental PIN through Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store. We don't operate the iCloud servers — Apple does. See Apple's privacy policy for what they do with iCloud data.

You can disable this at any time in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud. Disabling it does not remove the data already on your device, only the sync.

Third-party services

IPTViX integrates with a small number of third parties. None of them receive your name, email, or any identifying information from us.

  • Apple App Store / In-App Purchase. When you buy IPTViX Pro, Apple processes the transaction. We see only an anonymous receipt.
  • Adapty. We use Adapty to validate App Store receipts and gate the Pro feature flag. Adapty receives an anonymous app-install ID and the App Store transaction. No personal information.
  • Plex (only if you connect a Plex server). When you sign in to Plex, your username and password go directly to plex.tv over HTTPS. Plex returns an authentication token that we store in your Keychain. See Plex's privacy policy.
  • Apple Intelligence (on supported devices). The AI Companion uses on-device foundation models for explanations, recaps, and search. Prompts and responses stay on your device — they are not sent to Apple's servers, OpenAI, Anthropic, or anywhere else.
  • Your own playlist hosts. M3U providers, Xtream Codes panels, SMB shares, and iptv-org / Samsung TV Plus catalogs are services you point the app at. We have no relationship with them; their privacy practices are theirs.

Children's privacy

IPTViX is rated 12+ on the App Store and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from any user — so we cannot collect data from children either. The optional Parental Lock lets adult guardians PIN-gate channels, categories, and Settings on a shared device.

Your rights (GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA)

Because we hold no data about you on our side, there is nothing to access, correct, port, or delete. Data on your device is yours; uninstalling the app removes everything in the app's container (recordings you exported to Files stay in Files). To clear iCloud-synced data, sign out of iCloud or remove IPTViX from Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Apps Using iCloud.

If you live in a region with statutory privacy rights (EU/UK/California/Brazil/etc.), you can exercise them at any time by uninstalling the app and clearing the iCloud key-value store. No request to us is required because we hold nothing.

Cookies

The IPTViX iOS app uses no cookies. This marketing website serves no cookies, no analytics scripts, and no third-party trackers — verifiable by inspecting the network tab in your browser's developer tools.

Changes to this policy

We update this page when the app changes how it handles data. Material changes are noted in the app's release notes. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
